20 years ago this week, I recorded my second John Peel session.

Harkive was initially devised as the final project for my MA Music Industries degree, and it ran for the first time in 2013. Almost immediately, the project took off. #harkive became a trending topic; thousands of people told their stories; the project was featured in media outlets across the world (even appearing on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme!

..because all tough country bands need a prison LP

20 years ago today, I was in a band that recorded a John Peel session. Both parts of the sentence seem amazing to me. Twenty years having gone by is one thing; that we got to record a Peel Session is another.

My country band have released a new EP today, featuring songs from the sessions that produced our third album.

A workflow that gathers data from the Spotify API, creates a simple Logistic Regression model, and then produces a Shiny app enabling users to enter songs and see the results of predictions.

I have a journal article in the latest issue of IASPM journal, looking at COVID19 and the UK live music industry.
